　　该剧根据同名播客改编，讲述档案管理员Dan Turner(马莫多·阿西 饰 )接受了一份神秘的工作，去修复一批1994年损坏的录像带。他发现自己修复的是纪录片制作人Melody Pendras(迪纳·什瓦比 饰)的作品，这些作品是关于她对一个危险邪教的调查。当Dan卷入Melody的故事中，他相信自己能将她从25年前的可怕结局中拯救出来。

　　张梦一（徐洪浩 饰）的父亲是一名消防员，在一次执行任务时英勇牺牲。父亲的光辉事迹深深影响着张梦一，长大后，他决定走上和父亲相同的道路，成为了滨江特勤中队的中队长。在队里，张梦一意外邂逅了曾经的青梅竹马江涛（杨舒 饰），后者的身份是特勤队的指导员。两人因为教育理念的不同而产生了激烈的矛盾，气氛十分紧张。
　　与此同时，张梦一还要想方设法对付手下一批不听指挥的新兵蛋子们，其中，富二代出生的富强（赵荀 饰）尤为难缠。张梦一爱上了名为叶璐（张慧 饰）的美丽女子，而叶璐竟然是富强同父异母的姐姐。这段恋情让张梦一在队里的处境更为复杂。
