　　高永贤（罗嘉良）为大学生物化学系教授，头脑冷静，笃信科学，反对迷信；文嘉利（张可颐）则是电视台信息节目的资料撰稿员，因曾亲历奇遇，所以对世上怪异的事皆「宁信其有，不信其无」。
　　二人机缘巧合下一起合作，共同尝试寻找一些诡异个案的真相，其「天才白痴」、「轮迥」、「降头」、「邪教」、「异度」及「人间蒸发」等。二人在合作过程中，因所持观点有分歧，因此不时发生冲突，误会重重，但最终仍互相体谅，更渐渐成为情侣。一次，利为救贤而误丧刀下，贤为求利死而复生，须勇闯四度空间……
