「孝感动天」是以四个古代感人故事，来表彰百行以孝为先之美德。演员阵容鼎盛，剧情感人肺腑。 缇萦救父──缇萦（蔡少芬）自幼与父（胡枫）相依为命，侍父至孝。后其父被诬害入狱，为救父她不惜滚针床、赤足踏火炭、饮毒酒、甚至代父受刑。她的孝义终感动皇上赦免其父之罪，并废残酷不仁之五刑。 精忠旗──岳珂（魏骏杰）为岳飞之后，忠心爱国，并立志替先祖翻案雪耻，后取得证据可替岳飞翻案，但为顾全先皇颜面，终以鲜血毁证物。此举感动在任皇帝下旨恢复岳家名声，岳珂继祖志显孝，名留青史。 目莲救母──目莲（叶蕴仪）自幼被遗，几经辛苦，寻获生母刘青提（魏秋桦），惜其母因杀人被判入狱，后得怪病而死，被困地狱。目莲为救母竟打破地狱门，舍身割肉喂鬼，令其母感动忏悔，令天地为开，修成正果。 赵氏孤儿──赵武（罗嘉良）本为忠臣良将之后，因其父被奸臣所害，遭灭门惨变。武为忠仆程婴（刘江）所救并抚养成人，婴为助武诛仇人，更不惜牺牲自己。后武感念养父子之恩，以上卿身分将婴灵位奉养于赵家祠，孝顺之心可昭日月。
