两位年轻的女兵，奥若蕾和玛琳，在她们阿富汗执勤期的尾声，被批准和她们的小队一起享受为期三天的减压假期。他们来到了塞浦路斯的一家五星级度假酒店，和游客们待在一起。但是忘记战争、抛弃暴力并非易事。

　　宝拉（利蒂希亚·多施 Laetitia Dosch 饰）在20岁那年就认识男友了，两人携手一路走过了漫长的十年，本以为这个男人一定会牵着自己的手走入婚礼的殿堂，没想到在她30岁这一年，男友无情而且不可能挽回的抛弃了她。分手带给了宝拉巨大的打击，这打击实在是过于夸张了，导致她直接就精神崩溃住进了心理科。因为无法忍受心理科里可怕的治疗方式，宝拉决定“逃出疯人院”。
　　身无分文并且无处可去的宝拉只有自己的爱猫一只，但还是毅然决然的踏上了寻找自我的旅程，一路上，她遇见了各式各样的人，目睹了千奇百怪的人生，在这么多人生里面，有哪一个是她想要活成的样子呢？

　　一名法国战地记者女记者Elsa（黛安·克鲁格 Diane Kruger 饰）和她的同事在巴基斯坦采访期间遭到塔利班绑架。塔利班将被捕获的Elsa相关视频放倒了网络上，并声称在规定时间内，她将在摄像机面前被处死，却全世界的人民都可以通过网络看到全过程。在Elsa被行刑之前，一支由特种部队成员组成的救援小组被法国军方派来营救她。面对着极其残暴的塔利班亡命之徒，救援小组不畏艰险在第一时间就救出了Elsa，却与总部失去联系，不得不开始一场更为险恶的保卫战。一场在塔利班追捕者和救援小组之间的拉锯逃亡战不可避免的展开了。塔利班设下各种陷阱，未将救援小组一网打尽，而救援小组只有一个目标：成功营救Elsa逃离此地。

　　奥达（塔哈·拉希姆 Tahar Rahim 饰）和哥哥从小被寄养在纳萨比门下，纳萨比（安东尼奥·班德拉斯 Antonio Banderas 饰）在一次意外的发现了石油开掘后成为富甲一方的首领，逐渐与境外势力勾结，为了“黑金”置百姓与水深火热而不顾，并为了扩大权势将奥达与公主（芙蕾达·平托 Freida Pinto 饰）联姻。奥达的父亲带领阿拉伯平民，决心向纳萨比宣战，并鼓动自己的亲生儿子奥达的加入，但此刻纳萨比已占有高端军事武器，双方实力悬殊巨大。生性不好战的奥达挣扎在两个“父亲”、两个族群之间，不得不做出残酷的选择，为了百姓的生存与和平，与“不可战胜”的养父展开背水一战。

　　18岁的邮差朱利斯是著名黑人女歌手瑟尼亚·哈维斯的忠实歌迷。但他偷录了瑟尼亚的演唱会歌曲。这盒磁带差点迫使瑟尼亚放弃自己的自尊。同时朱利斯也偶然得到一盒指正卖淫和毒品集团头目的磁带。朱利斯因此卷入了警察和黑社会黑白两道的追杀之中。

　　弗朗西斯（加德·艾尔马莱 Gad Elmaleh 饰）是一个代客泊车的泊车小弟，善良的他虽然默默无闻，但心中亦有自己的理想和希望。可惜这理想抛弃了他，女友残酷拒绝了他的结婚请求。失意的男人走在街上，身边是一对男女在大声争执。女的名叫伊莲娜（阿丽斯·塔格里奥妮 Alice Taglioni 饰），男的则是知名政客。此时的弗朗西斯不会知道，在某个记者按下快门的那一瞬间，他的生活将会发生翻天覆地的变化。
